Engadget: Technology, Features App Reviews

I really love all of the content that Engadget posts and how straightforward the app is. My ONLY complaint and reason for 4 stars is that the white theme can get harsh for night time reading. I would love an option for a dark theme in settings. That would be great! Regardless I will keep reading because I enjoy the articles and their content. Thanks Engadget!

iPhone 6 & 6 Plus resolution should have updated for technology site the first week it came out.

1st, links that redirect you to a different article on Engadget dont route you within the app. It goes through the in app browser for some reason which is understandable if I was being redirected to a different website. The problem is that when Im directed to the mobile version of the site, the menu for the site is already open for some reason and obscures the entire article Im trying to read...pointless

Even when you download the content and working offline the app constantly tries to connect to the network and when it does the article list scroll up so you cant browse what to read without being interrupted. Thus also happens when reading an article offline and it gains connection. This is specially bad when in the subway in NYC where some stations have data and gain connection for a couple of secs.

Update for iPad pro. This looks like garbage.

Really like the app and how it provides quick updates on technology. Not sure why the others are giving it a bad review BC it works really well!!

All of a sudden the ads dont seem confined to the little bar at the bottom. Every couple swipes to the next article I am now greeted with a full-screen ad. Bye bye engadet app.

Its been more than a year since iPhone 6 came out with a larger screen size.. Is it too hard to update the app to accommodate the tech savvy readers of Engadget?

UPDATE Stopped using the app completely until I just tried it out - opening an article takes me to a topic which then opens the external website viewer. Are any grown ups still working at Engadget? ---------- For a tech blog Engadget should be humiliated by this app. It provides no comments to articles presumably deliberately, for what reason I cant imagine.

As a so called tech company, why can you not figure this out?

Very buggy, every other article viewed produces a pop up ad that never loads and simply shows a white screen with an X. Also, he update doesnt look pleasing at all and certainly doesnt look to support the theme of the current iOS. Also, many articles are unreadable because they dont load all of the article, this includes but is not limited to all of the "roundup" and "recap" articles. From now on Ill be using the website in safari.

For once I would like to read an article without a full screen popup. I would also like to click and article and have it go to an article beside taking me to an app to download

Like their format and functionality

Simply put, this is an invaluable app. Occasional glitches may besmirch the glowing rating it deserves, but this app gives you the most up-to-date information about technology that runs the gamut. Everything thats cutting edge or relevant is found here.

Dont get why there are so many bad reviews. This is a well-built informative app. Im on a 5s and it still works well for me.

So the people that write the stories are still saying "lets us know what you think in the comments below" yet, there is no way to ad comments, which is something that keeps me going away and now, almost, full time with TC... Please bring back the "comments" feature.

Engadget used to be my go to for tech news. Now I rarely open this app, every time I do I am reminded of why I stopped using it. Must of been a change in management at some point or it was sold.

I can deal with the ads at the bottom of each article but now am getting pop up ads that take up the full screen. Seems to appear when new article is opened at random times. Also occurs after the article has been opened for a while. I have been using this app for years but will be deleting until the pop-ups are gone!

Ive simply had enough of this awful app. Shame as i absolutely love the content and fully respect the writers. The app is incredibly slow and downloaded articles are not viable without wifi...

Good articles, but now ruined by the new continual pop up ads. Too bad.
